You will never lose me, Father. - Elena De La Vega

The only child of Don Diego De La Vega and his spouse Esperanza, Elena was taken by Don Rafael Montero after the arrest of Diego and death of her mother. Raised in Spain believing that her father was Rafael, Elena was told that her mother died in childbirth.

After several encounters with this new Zorro, it was clear that he intrigued her. Well trained in fencing she fought him to almost a standstill.

Elena soon came to doubt Rafael's version of events. She learned the details of her true parentage and was held hostage when Don Rafael's plans to use slave-mined gold to create an independent state in California came to light.

Freed from captivity by her true father, she aided him and Zorro in stopping an attempt by Don Rafael and Captain Love to kill the slaves and conceal their scheme.
