The twenty-first bearer of the name, the current Phantom is the latest in a long line of crime fighters. Sworn to devote his life to the destruction of piracy, greed, cruelty and injustice in all its forms, Kit Walker protects Bengalla from pirates, slavers, criminals and traffickers of all types.

The Phantom has no special powers, instead relying on sheer physical strength, refined fighting skills and a fearsome reputation, centuries in the making, to overcome his foes.

Aside from his signature blue costume and gun belt, the Phantom carries two M1911 pistols, which he uses with incredible accuracy to disarm his enemies. On his hands, he wears rings, one of which 'The Evil Mark' is worn on his right hand to brand his enemies and the other 'The Good Mark', to indicate those who are under his protection.

On a number of adventures, various Phantoms have encountered 'The Little People' and their leader, Prince Vlad. The Little People first arrived on Earth in the distant past, when their spaceship crashed, leaving them stranded. For much of their presence in Bengalla, they stole animals and food from humans. The Eighth Phantom, in an effort to put a stop of their thievery, entered into a treaty with The Little People. The Phantom promised to aid them whenever they required in return for their living quietly alongside humanity. The Little People are experts at training animals, especially birds, to aid them in day to day life. The Phantom's own falcon, Fraka, was a gift from them.
